Work starts on new training centre
November 2000:
Finally, all permissions have been granted and work started on our training centre.
As we are
- converting grade 2 listed farm buildings,
- situated in the Yorkshire Dales National Park
- but otherwise in the South Lakeland region of Cumbria
getting all of the required permissions from the right offices was not a trivial matter.
On the positive side, the location is very convenient for visits not only to the Yorkshire Dales but also the Lake District, and we are based in beautiful, peaceful countryside which is conducive to enjoyable and relaxed learning.
Lucid Training Centre opens
Our premises were opened for training courses in 2001 by Mary Cowperthwaite who lived and together with her late husband Thomas farmed the buildings before they were acquired by Lucid. Lucid held an open day for locals and many came to wish us well with a glass of wine, beer or fruit juice, and to see just what we were doing in buildings previously used for farming.
